Very nice hotel. The rooms are quite old, but comfortable and large. We had one with a new bathroom as well. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms could be a bit noisy early evening because of the bar downstairs but quite after say 11pm. The location is unbeatable. I'd stay again.

Loved the hotel for being so central to everything that Krakow had to offer, the bedrooms were big and spacious for the 3 of us and breakfast was lovely with lots of variety, the staff were very helpful too.

    Did not find any.

    Superb

Very professional and helpful staff who responded quickly and positively to my email enquiries before we left England. On arrival we were offered a free upgrade from a de-luxe double room to a suite; we were amazed and delighted to accept! Reception staff were always willing to provide information about transport and local attractions and could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was comprehensive with fresh, tasty fare on offer every day. The impressive Royal Art Bar provided ideal and relaxing conditions for an evening drink and, again, courteous English-speaking staff were always happy to advise on menu options. Finally, the hotel location right on the edge of the old town - and directly opposite the castle - made it a perfect base from which to explore the old town and Jewish quarter. All in all, a thoroughly excellent stay.

    Exceptional

This is my 5th stay in total at the Hotel Royal, my 3rd since November 2011 and I wouldn't stay in any other hotel. The rooms are luxurious, spacious and reasonably priced. All the staff at the hotel including cocktail bar and in the restaurant are always very helpful, even supplying a bucket of ice for our room!! Food at breakfast is plentiful but the largest meals are in the evenings. Plenty of choice and the Lemon vodka is delicious (although quite strong so didn't have too many!!) Located in a prime position next to the castle and within 2-3min walk of square and Cloth hall. Trips can be organised through reception and are well organised and very interesting, with comfortable transfers to places of interest.

I cannot fault the Royal Hotel but would request to stay on Planty side of hotel if booking as tram side can be quite noisy from early morning!

    Exceptional

Hotel was perfecty located for walking to throughout the Old Town. Breakfast was very good for the b & b rate. Hotel was spotless and the staff were very helpful and all had very good English. All in all I would and have highly recommended this hotel to friends etc.

    Fabulous

Despite reviews we found it very easy to navigate the route to/from our rooms to Breakfast Room. We had deluxe at the back of the hotel which were quiet. We dined twice at the pod restaurant in the evening which offered great food at unbelievable prices. The bonus was fantastic music provided by a quartet group which provided a totally "european flavour". Although the rooms were cleaned every day, the beds on our last night were not made, appearance of the top cover just pulled up and rumpled. Advised Reception on check-out who apologised and quickly notated. All in all a great w/end and would stay again.

    Superb

The best thing about the hotel was the location. The staff was courteous, and they also upgraded us to one of the best rooms in the hotel after we had to wait behind a rowdy group of drunken British tourists. The price was extremely attractive for the location and the qulity of the rooms.

Loved it here. Great staff, location and comfortable. There was no issue when I extended my stay and they even made me a lunch box when I had to leave before breakfast. Totally recommend, not luxury, but a home away from home.

    Very good

The room we booked was a superior and it was. The room was huge with 2 double beds, each designed for one person as they were supplied with one large pilow and a 4ft wide duvet. The bathroom was also huge and well fitted out. The staff were helpful with booking our tours and we were able to leave our luggage after check-out until it was time to go to the airport, again they arranged a taxi. The location of the hotel was perfect, across the road from the Wavel.

As we were at the far end of the hotel there was no through route to get to the reception and breakfast without going up and down several flights of stairs. I have difficulty with stairs so we were advised to use the lift at our end of hotel and walk round the outside and back in the front door. This became tiresome after a while, especially when it rained.

It felt like a Polish hotel, rather than the kind of hotel chain that you find anywhere.

    Rooms were a bit dark.

    Superb

The hotel complex is very old and quite a labyrinth, but somehow cosy. Location is excellent very close to Wawel Castle, just halfway from Kazimierz and Old Town.

The restaurant in the same building where breakfast is served, is not actually a part of the hotel and it is easy to see it in the attitudes and how they treat you as a client, who doesn´t pay for the services straight to them. You can´t even take your coffee cup to the outside smoking area terrace cause it´s their policy!!

    Superb

A wonderful hotel is centrally located, near the castle Wawel, 5 minutes walk to Central Square. We was very pleased, that there are a huge beds, bigger rooms. Breakfast did not disappoint too.

Expensive parking. The hotel is build like a labyrinth, it's hard not to get lost, but it's even more interesting.
